This event will feature professional networking, educational sessions, vendor exhibits, group dinner social events, the annual membership meeting, business meetings of the NCALC Board of Directors and Committees, and opportunities for everyone to have fellowship with other participants and time for families and friends to enjoy other activities in the Atlantic Beach area.

Who: All NCALC members, friends, spouses, and families are encouraged to participate.

  • Selling the Family Business -- Phillip Kolb, James Gorzinski, and Liz Vetter (NewLeaf Brokerage) -- Family businesses are unique entities, deeply rooted in personal history and shared experiences. Deciding to sell such a business is a complex and emotional journey that requires delicate handling, sensitivity, and lots of communication. While the prospect of starting such conversation can be difficult, with careful consideration, empathy, and open dialogue, this first step can pave the way for a smoother transaction and transition. Our speakers will share tips to help make these conversations easier for everyone.

- 930 am Networking among Vendor Exhibits

- 10:00 am Educational Session

  • Choosing Hard -- Ryan Fish (Red Hanger Cleaners)  -- Fish will share some of his journey and how he got to where he is. He will explore some of the challenges facing our industry and what we can do to be better operators. Fish will also share his passion about personal development and being intentional about where we spend our time and what we focus on.

Free afternoon for lunch and free-time on your own with family and friends.

- 630 pm Recognition Reception and Dinner with Installation of New Leadership (concurrent with separate but nearby dinner and activities for children (ages 4-12.)

Monday (5/27/24)

             No planned group activities

             Late departures for fun activities on your own

             Attendees depart on their own schedule

Accommodations

A small block of sleeping rooms has been reserved for our group at the Doubletree by Hilton Atlantic Beach located at 2717 West Fort Macon Rd, Atlantic Beach, NC. Our group rates per night are Oceanview $309, Oceanfront $359, and Oceanfront Suite $409. These rates are subject to state and local taxes (currently 12.75%) in effect at time of check-in. Don’t wait to reserve your room. Our room block and pricing are available until April 29, 2024. Check-in time: 4:00pm /Checkout time: 11:00am. Reservations should be made directly with hotel at 252-240-1155. Rates for extended stay 3 days before and/or after our event will not exceed group rates above, however to minimize difficulty with reservations, requests for these extended stays should be sent to events@ncalc.org for special handling.

Convention Registration

Advance registration for each individual participant is required to ensure everyone can be accommodated. All registrations must be processed through our online registration system. Multiple attendees may be registered and paid together by completing  registration for each individual starting with the person responsible for payment first, asking for an invoice after each person until the last, and then paying for all registrations with one charge card transaction.

Cancellations

Should cancellations be necessary, please let us know as early as possible. Cancellation requests will be accepted through May 14, 2024 with full refunds provided. No refunds will be made for cancellations after this date.
